Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has donated the sum of N200m to internally displaced persons as he described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a failure to the nation.
Wike, who is a presidential hopeful on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the assertion when he came to Kaduna to garner support for his presidential ambition from party delegates.
Governor Wike said that he was on a rescue mission described the high rate of insecurity the country as unacceptable as he said that the nation’s leaders must not use sentiments with the issues of insecurity.
” I have the courage, capacity and wherewithal to deal with the situation as I am known to be truthful and I stand for truth and justice,”he said.
He said that Kaduna State being the political nerve of the North and to a high extent the nation has been bedeviled by extreme insecurity and the APC government had remained insensitive.
He also added that ” whosoever becomes President of the nation must not be disconnected from the party as he prides himself as a thorough party man (PDP).
” Without the party, you can’t be seating here. I promised to always stand by and for the party and I will strengthen the party and nation, ” he added.
” I promise to handle the issue of insecurity before even the economy and other things. “
“This because I will want to leverage on all the strength of each and every state so that we can have comparative advantage. If you are farming rice, you should be able to feed the nation and even export it,” he said.
On his part, former Governor of Kaduna State, who also doubles as a top member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Alh Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, eulogized Governor Wike for his steadfast love for the the party as he also thanked him for donating money for the IDPs in the state.
He said that Wike had shown that he is a true party man who has the interest of the nation at heart.
He added that only Governor Wike stood by the party during its trying times as he said that the party members will stand by him to see that he achieved his objective of being the president of Nigeria.
